Wonga-Wongas' story
Johnny Ryan and the crew of the "Wonga-Wonga," a B-24 Liberator from the 376th Bomb Group of the 97th Bomb Wing, were on their way into Romania from Libya. They were flying heavy with bombs for the Ploesti oil fields, a strategic region for the Germans. The oil in the Ploesti fields was used to fuel a good part of the Nazi war machine.
For decades nobody knew what happened to the Wonga-Wonga. The bombers in the Ploesti bombing run were on radio silence, so even if they were shot down, HQ wouldn't have known. Only recently have some of the guys in their formation told my family that the Wonga-Wonga was flying heavy, and stalled when they cut back airspeed to make room for another plane in the formation. The run was low-altitude (500ft) to evade radar, so the airplane never recovered from the stall and crashed into the Mediteranean.

MAW Install Readme
The set of planes TK_B24_D_043, TK_B24_D_809, and TK_B24_D_563 are all set up to work in MAW. Why? They all were part of the
15th AAF and flew from North Africa. 809 was restationed to England a bit later.
Ok how to get them into the game:
Airplanes, Weapons, and Pylons
After unzipping:
1) Place each airplane folder into the main aircraft folder
2) Place the TK_B24_Shared in the main aircraft folder
3) Place the contents of the weapons and pylons folders into their respective folders.
4) That is it for these files.
5) If you don't have the Nachtpiltens Catalina installed Use the Share2 folder files and place them in the Main B24
Share folder. Otherwise download the Catalinas from Beaus' site
http://www.beauscfs3.leaveningonline.com/index.html
and install the plane.
Sounds
1) After unzipping, take the US_Engine_Pratt_Whitney_R_1830-90_x4 folder and place it in the DR_Engine_Sounds folder
That should be it. Any problems don't contact me .....LOL! Post your concerns at SOH. |

ETO Install Readme
ETO Install Readme
This plane, Eager Beaver was stationed in the Pacific, but since I do not have PTO installed I made it work in ETO. You will
be able to add the J series and the Coatal Command planes w/o a problems and the planes use many similar files.
Ok how to get the plane into the game:
Airplanes, Weapons, and Pylons
After unzipping:
1) Place the airplane folder into the main aircraft folder
2) Place the TK_B24_ETO_Shared in the main aircraft folder (different than MAW!) This has a shared specular file that
is part of the MAW package but is needed for ETO since the planes are different.
3) Place the contents of the weapons and pylons folders into their respective folders.
4) That is it for these files.
5) If you don't have the Nachtpiltens Catalina installed Use the Share2 folder files and place them in the Main B24
Share folder. Otherwise download the Catalinas from Beaus' site
http://www.beauscfs3.leaveningonline.com/index.html
and install the plane.
